So, you’re planning to drive across the USA?
Over the 2 months that me and my boyfriend drove across America, we came across some amazing things. We started at New York, and ended at Maui. Below is my top 10 must-do things that you need to do if you are going to be driving across America too!
#1 | New York |
I couldn’t do a top 10 list without including New York. It is one of my most favourite places. Two of my most favourite places in New York are West Village and Central Park.
#2 | Bandera Mayan Dude Ranch |
My grandma recommend that I go here, after her and my grandad visited many years ago. It really was amazing, you got to ride horses down to breakfast, fish in the river behind the ranch and eat as much food as you can! I feel this is a must do for anyone visiting Texas.
#3 | Krause Springs |
This is like a little tropical paradise, and it is part of a campground. We camped there, had a BBQ and swam in the spring. Really not one to be missed.
#4 | Amarillo Cadillac Ranch |
This is a public art installation and sculpture that was created in 1974, and is still going strong today. Grab some cans of spray paint, and go here where you can spray paint anything on the cars. It’s pretty cool.
#5 | Grand Canyon |
To be honest, before I went I was constantly thinking ‘It cant be that good can it?”, and as soon as we arrived I realised that I was wrong! We hiked down to the middle of the canyon, so tiring, but an amazing feeling! One thing I would recommend to do – that we unfortunately didn’t do – is to camp at the bottom of the canyon, so that you can walk to the river the next day!
#6 | Antelope Canyon |
We stopped off here for a break from driving, not knowing how beautiful it actually was. It is so beautiful, I would really recommend anyone to go. (There are quite steep ladders inside, so bare that in mind before you go!)
#7 | Big Sur |
This is such beautiful drive, and there are so many beautiful places to stop off at along the way, including McWay Falls and Pfeiffer Beach.
#8 | Yosemite |
Again, this is another breath-taking park, with so much to do!
#9 | Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge |
It’s so good to actually being able to say I drove over this incredible bridge!
#10 | Maui |
Maui has got to be one of my favourite places from the trip. I couldn’t wait to go, and it didn’t disappoint! We only had 3 days there and it definitely wasn’t long enough – my key place to say to go would be to twin falls! It was beautiful!
